In September we supported Topcon Positioning GB and Aggregate Industries UK and WIRTGEN GROUP at the Balfour Beatty plc Boots on the Ground Innovation Day. We were showing the benefits of our latest specialist testing equipment-the Topcon Smoothride Workflow. This involves using a LiDAR scanner to create designs to automate the milling and paving 3D machine control.
The benefits of using this is to help create a smoother road network, better quality ride for the travelling public, asphalt material savings for contractors and their clients (crucial in helping road operators reduce carbon and meet their net zero targets) and more durable, longer lasting road surfaces.
